In preparation for the next election the BC Liberals have set up the Ideas Lab website to listen to policy ideas submitted from BC Liberals accross the province. This is a great website to submit your own ideas and look at the ideas of others.
The BCYL would like to put forward policy ideas at the next convention. This page is for our members to submit policy ideas that you would like the BCYL to bring forward at the next convention. We will be hosting multiple policy discussions over the next couple months and encourage you to participate in this process.

Provide Funding for Youth Resource Centers
A Youth Center in my town is facing financial troubles and will have to shut down. We are working hard to make sure that this is only temporary, but unless we can get funding or grants it may be permanent.
There does not seem to be any funding set aside at the provincial level for this kind of resource. I can guarantee that the YRC has been utterly invaluable to the Youth of this community of Powell River.

Legalize Marijuana
Marijuana is a multi-billion dollar industry in BC
Taxation of this crop could provide a major revenue boost for the provincial government
Crime such as violence associated with grow-ops could be greatly reduced
Public safety has to take priority over antequated, unenforceable drug law
