Volunteer Appreciation Day
On May 7th, 2016, BC Liberal volunteers gathered in their local communities to celebrate the first annual Volunteer Appreciation Day. The event was a great success! Over 2,700 people signed up for 30 events province-wide.

We provided each volunteer with blue, navy, and white hats complete with BCL slogans like “Get to YES”, “BC Strong”, “Christy Country”, and “Team BC 2017”. The top hit? “Christy Country.”

MLAs and candidates hosted events from BBQ picnics to more formal lunches which were filled with great weather and great conversation.
One of our most memorable conversations of the weekend took place at the Richmond Volunteer Appreciation Day event where a volunteer looked back on their years volunteering for the party.
“I remember my first event volunteering for Linda Reid in 1991,” said Sam while putting on her hat.
“It’s nice to see all the hard work that’s been put in over the years amount to something. I have no doubt in my mind that 2017 will be our year again!”
Premier Christy Clark made a special surprise visit to Burnaby and Comox. Volunteers were eager to meet the Premier, some for their first time! Check out the photos of the event (including your selfies with the Premier!) by checking out out online gallery here.
We’re thrilled to have such an amazing response to Volunteer Appreciation Day across BC. Thank you to all of our volunteers for participating. Together, we make a motivated and energized Team 2017.
